To celebrate an historical milestone as the 600 years since the discovery of Madeira Island, Blandy’s has launched “The Winemaker’s Selection”, a highly luxurious and limited edition to 600 numbered magnums of a unique Madeira wine. Inspired by the bravery and audacity shown by the Portuguese navigators and by the celebration of six centuries of history of Madeira Island, Omdesign® created this edition that faithfully symbolizes Portugal and the mystery experienced by the audacious discoverers when they sighted “The Pearl of the Atlantic” for the first time, in 1419 (MCDXIXI). This special package preserves and praises the most typical and traditional origins and arts of Madeira and Portugal, as the use of Brazilian Vinhático wood, the Portuguese silver carved and chiseled on the crystal decanter and the envelope decorated with Madeiran embroidery, that carries the project’s booklet.
